ABOUT THE TEACHER:

JENNIFER SMYTH

P.S Theatre is run by (me) Jennifer Smyth, I have a degree and Masters in Performance Theatre and have over 10 years of experience working with children.
I have been 'On With The Show's' co- director for the last 10 years and during this time I have progressed from Stage Assistant to Company Director. I have also had the opportunity to work in Spain every summer for 5 years where I helped lead a camp of 140 children to devise and create work.
Whilst completing my Masters I toured many different fringe festivals with an original piece written and produced by my working partner and I.
Since being on the stage at just four years old I understand the importance of what drama classes can give you, not just for the stage but for every day life.

I still act and I was lucky enough to win Best Actress of the year for my performance of Linda in Blood Brothers in 2018. I have also just finished a run of Daisy Pulls it off, were I had so much fun playing the lead, Daisy. The last show I was in March I was playing (another) Linda in 'Curtain up on Murder'.

I found out it May that 'Blood Brothers' won best play in our district for 2018. I am so proud and can't wait for the award ceremony in June.

In June 2019 my challenge wasn't on the stage- but directing instead. It was so much fun and i absolutely loved directing 'The Kitchen Sink'.

I am currently rehearsing for One Man Two Guvnor's with an amazing group of actors!
